Oatmeal raisin cookies in a billion-dollar industry

I was watching an episode of Modern

 Marvels and it was about food and different kind of foods. The episode that I was watching was talking about cookies. They had a lot of great information on cookies, a lot of really good information. However, a few things caught my eye and made me think.

One of the things they mentioned was that the cookie industry is a 30 billion dollar per year industry. 

30 billion dollars per year. 

They also mentioned that Americans alone eat over 2 billion cookies a year. They eat over 2 billion cookies a year.

In that same article, or the same show, they were talking about a company that makes chocolate chip cookies. 

Chocolate chip cookies, they said, are the number one cookies being sold. 

Their number two cookie is peanut butter and

 their number three cookie is oatmeal raisin.

What stuck in my mind was that my favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin. With this show saying it's the number three cookie, you would think you could find oatmeal raisin cookies in more places. 

But no, I tend to not find oatmeal raisin cookies in a lot of different places. That made it really stick in my mind.
